Coffee and....

Love is coffee, or something like that! For me this is true especially after a few nights with a teething baby. After working on 6 teeth cutting at once Junior knew he owed his Mom some coffee! The cool part? He heard of this place that would be a one stop for coffee and our adventure for the day! Come with us..

The COOP
Located at 104 N Baltimore Ave (Derby) or 2812 E Douglas Ave (Wichita)

Business hours are Monday through Friday 6 am - 7 pm and Sat/Sun 8 am - 5 pm (Derby) or Sunday through Thursday 8 am - 9 pm and Fri/Sat 8 am - 10 pm (Wichita)

Junior took me over to their location in Derby. At this location, they have their coffee, but don't worry if you aren't a fan they also have refreshers, smoothies, hot chocolate, boba and more! They have a few food options plus anything the vendors have for sale on their shelf.
What are the shelves? Something like what you see above! They have two rows of book case type shelving and fridge/freezers. Each vendor has their own section where their products are displayed. Oh yeah, did we mention there are over 50 different vendors in the Derby store alone? All things homemade and handmade! Junior says you'll be sure to walk out with at least one thing.
The COOP does a lot to support local small businesses. They even have this neat display right when you enter full of business cards and advertisements. They occasionally host events and currently have "Coupes & Coffee Derby" scheduled for the end of Aug and Sep. You can find more information about their events and promos on their Facebook page. 
One more thing.. and Junior says you HAVE to know, their Wichita location even has a game area for enjoying your treats with the company of friends. He says send an invite when you want to get beat in your next game!

Welcome to my newest chapter of supporting South Central, KS small shops.  Today, it was decided that Junior was taking us to check out Peck, Kansas. Rumor actually has it that he wanted to be able to eat at their yummy burger barn in town, should have known! So, we headed over to Peck for his first visit to Boudreux Burger Barn and I must say none of us were disappointed with their food or service. Chisholm Trail Pt 1

Junior heard that there was a Chisholm Trail Festival going on in Caldwell, KS so he wanted to go for his first time to find out what it was all about. Plus, there were a few small businesses located here that he was already wanting to go see! Between the settlement of the Old West and the cattle drives, Caldwell remains the Border Queen town. Let's see what this little hard working town has to offer! Junior had to make sure we had a kick start to our day of adventures since he had been keeping Mom up all week teething! So, we have our first stop at this adorable, affordable and aesthetically pleasing shop. Suzy's Bakery & Coffee Shop Located at 17 N Main St in Caldwell. Rainy Days

Saturday was filled with thunderstorms which was sad for Junior because he loves to be outside! Junior decided even if it was raining there was a small business he could support. Somewhere. Somehow. Then it hit him! Something that would be inside and entertaining, a movie. Junior took us to downtown Wellington, Kansas to check out the Regent Theater.  Regent Theater Located at 114 W Lincoln Ave in Wellington. Business hours(show times) tend to be Friday at 7 pm and Saturday/Sunday at 2 pm and 7 pm.  Contact: 620-326-6843 Can also be found on Facebook at "Wellington Regent Theater".  This local theater has very affordable admission prices at $6 for children and $8 for adults!  They also offer party and special showings outside of normal showtimes, contact them for booking availability and pricing details.  The one thing Junior can't have yet is the best thing I think sells at the concessions, Popcorn!
