Trails Pt 2

Sorry to everyone that didn't like that cliff hanger, but your wait is over! Junior had to take a break between visiting all these shops to see Caldwell's Chisholm Trail Days annual cattle drive.

While we were working our way through this festival of events, Junior had a few more stops to make.

Rustic Longhorn Co.
Located at 2 N Main St in Caldwell.

With this shops western boutique theme comes a variety of products and services. You can find home decor, repurposed furniture, jewelry and other accessories. Junior found some very unique items! But this business offers a whole lot more than their "typical" boutique items. 
Just look at this sneak peek of their "Hat Bar". You say what's a Hat Bar? Well step inside of this building's historic bank vault to pick your hat style and decoration! At the shop you can either choose the decorative materials you want to be added to your hat by them or request to create your own. From branding to feathers, Junior says go personalize your next hat!
Underneath, attached and run by the same owners of Rustic Longhorn is the "Underground Vault". Junior says he wished he could tell you guys more about this western saloon, but we weren't able to visit as it wasn't open at the time we passed through.
Junior challenges you to go visit Caldwell and see if you can let us know more about the Saloon before he makes it back!

Hagar Acres Farm to Home
Located at 13 S Main St in Caldwell.

Business hours are Thursday and Friday 3 to 6 pm, Saturdays 8 am - 12 pm.

This is a local shop where all your natural, home grown goodies and fresh farm products are found. At Hagar Acres Junior found a variety of products including oils, soaps, herbs, honey, fresh produce, meats and breads! Of course this shop offers some products outside of this like shirts, jewelry and tumblers.
Fridges and freezers in the store hold fresh produce, cheese, eggs, meat and ready to heat meals. This little shop has such big things to offer between the owners products and the multiple other vendors that have items here! Other vendors associated with them include Strand Land & Cattle, The Venue at Diamond Springs, Grazing Plains Farm, Chisholm Trail Meats, Universal Products and Films by Futhey.

Junior says check them out and get the products for your next home cooked meal!


Onto the last stop!
Junior says he knows this is a long one, but after he left you with a cliff hanger he just felt like you needed to hear about three small businesses this time! Before leaving Caldwell on this trip, he had to make one more stop. He wanted to visit a fellow member of the Local Business Rep Facebook group as they were a vendor at the Farm & Art Market during the festival.

You have got to check out Caldwell and visit these small shops. Junior was so excited he went during this town event because the cows were his favorite! He says go support them how you can for now and take him back when the cows are in town!

Welcome to my newest chapter of supporting South Central, KS small shops.  Today, it was decided that Junior was taking us to check out Peck, Kansas. Rumor actually has it that he wanted to be able to eat at their yummy burger barn in town, should have known! So, we headed over to Peck for his first visit to Boudreux Burger Barn and I must say none of us were disappointed with their food or service. Chisholm Trail Pt 1

Junior heard that there was a Chisholm Trail Festival going on in Caldwell, KS so he wanted to go for his first time to find out what it was all about. Plus, there were a few small businesses located here that he was already wanting to go see! Between the settlement of the Old West and the cattle drives, Caldwell remains the Border Queen town. Let's see what this little hard working town has to offer! Junior had to make sure we had a kick start to our day of adventures since he had been keeping Mom up all week teething! So, we have our first stop at this adorable, affordable and aesthetically pleasing shop. Suzy's Bakery & Coffee Shop Located at 17 N Main St in Caldwell. Rainy Days

Saturday was filled with thunderstorms which was sad for Junior because he loves to be outside! Junior decided even if it was raining there was a small business he could support. Somewhere. Somehow. Then it hit him! Something that would be inside and entertaining, a movie. Junior took us to downtown Wellington, Kansas to check out the Regent Theater.  Regent Theater Located at 114 W Lincoln Ave in Wellington. Business hours(show times) tend to be Friday at 7 pm and Saturday/Sunday at 2 pm and 7 pm.  Contact: 620-326-6843 Can also be found on Facebook at "Wellington Regent Theater".  This local theater has very affordable admission prices at $6 for children and $8 for adults!  They also offer party and special showings outside of normal showtimes, contact them for booking availability and pricing details.  The one thing Junior can't have yet is the best thing I think sells at the concessions, Popcorn!
