Chisholm Trail Pt 1

Junior heard that there was a Chisholm Trail Festival going on in Caldwell, KS so he wanted to go for his first time to find out what it was all about. Plus, there were a few small businesses located here that he was already wanting to go see! Between the settlement of the Old West and the cattle drives, Caldwell remains the Border Queen town. Let's see what this little hard working town has to offer!

Junior had to make sure we had a kick start to our day of adventures since he had been keeping Mom up all week teething! So, we have our first stop at this adorable, affordable and aesthetically pleasing shop.

Suzy's Bakery & Coffee Shop
Located at 17 N Main St in Caldwell.

Business hours are 6 am - 2 pm Tuesday through Friday and Saturday 8 am - 12 pm.

Of course it says it all in their business name, Suzy's is a local shop offering all things coffee, breakfast items and some other sweet treats! Catering and special orders are available for order upon request.
Want to know the most "unique" thing this shop offers? Well just look below!
Yes, look however many more times you need, but those are donuts! Junior says these donuts are amazing with a light, fluffy texture and mouth watering taste. He says if you visit Suzy's you need to try their made in shop donuts.
While we were visiting this local coffee shop, it seemed like everyone that walked in was talking about Kolaches. So, I'm sure you could guess it, Juniors next stop was influenced by that sweet tooth he has!
Nostalgia Nook
Located at 4 N Main St in Caldwell.

Business hours are 8 am - 5 pm Monday through Saturday.

Contact: 620-845-2615

Can also be found on Facebook.
Lets start with the sweet smell of goodness. This little Nook is famous for their Kolache Kitchen, but sadly we won't be seeing them again until another significant town event. Make sure to keep your eyes open for other big events in this small town so you can get your hands on some!
You say okay why else should we check them out?
Well there isn't just one photo to explain what else they have to offer. This shop is known as a nostalgic, antique general store. They offer a variety of products including crafting supplies, kitchen tools, toys, snacks and more.
That "more" includes a few personalized items including these cups by "Becca's Custom Decals & Home Decor" and a crafted John Deere bench by "Ginn Manufacturing". You can find all the reasons to spend money in this local business!

Junior wants to encourage everyone to check out both of these shops, but stay tuned because he didn't just stop checking out what Caldwell had to offer here. Find out what other places you can visit when you go!

Until Juniors next adventure,
