Just another not-so-casual weekend supporting local businesses. I bet the "not-so" is stumping you! Well, Juniors typical MO is to casually take us to check out some new small businesses in our spare time. This go around looks different because while supporting a local business, it was a big project!

Savvy Builder's

Savvy Builder's offers a variety of construction services. The project done here was for siding and window installation. Junior loved getting to watch the crew work with all of their tools!
The "after" of this project is beautiful. The owner was knowledgeable, efficient and reliable in all phases of this job. Junior recommends anyone looking to have a construction job completed to check them out!

But of course, a long day with big projects called for something good to eat!
The Dore
Located at 114 N Washington Ave in Wellington.

Business hours are Monday-Wednesday 11 am - 12 am, Thursday-Saturday 11 am - 2 am and Sunday 12 pm - 10 pm.

The Dore is a bar & grill located in downtown Wellington. Their Menu offers a variety of sandwiches, burgers, pasta, salads and more! Junior of course ate like he was starving and never had anything as good as this!

Welcome to my newest chapter of supporting South Central, KS small shops.  Today, it was decided that Junior was taking us to check out Peck, Kansas. Rumor actually has it that he wanted to be able to eat at their yummy burger barn in town, should have known! So, we headed over to Peck for his first visit to Boudreux Burger Barn and I must say none of us were disappointed with their food or service. Even Juniors picky friend, Mr B, ate all he could!  Now for the real reason Junior said he was taking us to Peck, to visit The Market Nursery & Venue for our first time. Let me just say I hope Junior & Mr B were paying attention to what gifts they will get to give on Mother's Day. Although, it could be hard to pick as there is such a good variety of products. Chisholm Trail Pt 1

Junior heard that there was a Chisholm Trail Festival going on in Caldwell, KS so he wanted to go for his first time to find out what it was all about. Plus, there were a few small businesses located here that he was already wanting to go see! Between the settlement of the Old West and the cattle drives, Caldwell remains the Border Queen town. Let's see what this little hard working town has to offer! Junior had to make sure we had a kick start to our day of adventures since he had been keeping Mom up all week teething! So, we have our first stop at this adorable, affordable and aesthetically pleasing shop. Suzy's Bakery & Coffee Shop Located at 17 N Main St in Caldwell. Rainy Days

Saturday was filled with thunderstorms which was sad for Junior because he loves to be outside! Junior decided even if it was raining there was a small business he could support. Somewhere. Somehow. Then it hit him! Something that would be inside and entertaining, a movie. Junior took us to downtown Wellington, Kansas to check out the Regent Theater.  Regent Theater Located at 114 W Lincoln Ave in Wellington. Business hours(show times) tend to be Friday at 7 pm and Saturday/Sunday at 2 pm and 7 pm.  Contact: 620-326-6843 Can also be found on Facebook at "Wellington Regent Theater".  This local theater has very affordable admission prices at $6 for children and $8 for adults!  They also offer party and special showings outside of normal showtimes, contact them for booking availability and pricing details.  The one thing Junior can't have yet is the best thing I think sells at the concessions, Popcorn!
